Dear Parents and Students,
Tomorrow begins a new way that we will be interacting outside of our classroom. I want you to know, I am here for you and although it is not going to be perfect, I am going to do my best to help you along the way. I will be available by email every day from 8:00am –3:00pm. In addition, if you need to speak with me directly, you may call me during the hours of 10:00am and 12:00 pm each day as well. I am going to do my best to share as much information with you and here are a few things, I need from you to get us started. Please know that your family concerns and situations always come first during these times.
First, can all parents or students respond to this email, so I know we have a good email connection. I only need one email back from each students’ family.
Second, let me know if for some reason you do not have access to technology for at least 120 minutes per day. This is how we will stay in contact and stay connected, however if you do not have access to the internet, we will come up with alternate learning options that MBES has provided.
Thirdly, we will use serval learning platforms that your child is very familiar with and perhaps some new ones that should be fun as we move along.
Here is what your child should do each day.
- Check Google Classroom for assignments in math, science and social studies. I will put the assignments there, but they will be instructed to use study island for math and science and gallopade for social studies. In addition, we will use Seesaw this week to get connected and may use Microsoft teams to even have some face to face time.
- Complete at least one lesson in I-ready Math each day.
- Understand that routines are important, but I am completely flexible with your family’s needs.
- Fulton County sent us a schedule for the week for all subjects, including math, ELA, art, pe, and music. I will attach this with my email, students should complete assignments as stated on the document for specials. The math will be a review and should be completed along with I-ready math. Next week we will continue with our Volume for 5th grade and Statistics for 6th grade. I truly appreciate your flexibility.

Dear Students and Parents,
I am excited to start a new year for myself and my students. The last year of elementary school is such an exciting time for both students and parents; as parents learn to allow the students to become more self guided and self reliant, and students' learn the importance of self-discipline and organization needed to achieve success. My role is to guide students through this process in a stimulating and challenging way, in order to be sure they gain the confidence and skills for the middle grades. I encourage students to take responsibility for themselves and to become aware and mindful of great study habits and increased organization.
One way for students to begin to take responsibility is to become familiar with their own grades posted in Infinite campus through Fulton County Schools website. Students will normally receive some grade each week in Math, Science/Social Studies and every other week in Health, whether that will be for tests, quizzes, classwork or homework.
This allows everyone to stay on top of student progress throughout the year.
A little about myself, I was born in New York City and moved to Florida when I entered the sixth grade. I graduated from University of Florida (GO GATORS) and lived in Florida for several years, where I worked in Regional Sales Management, Management Training and my own successful exercise with your baby business in Florida. I stayed home with my two daughters while they were young, and then became a substitute teacher as they entered school. I became certified to teach in the state of Georgia, a few years after.
Please use this website to see what is currently and will be coming up in class for math, science and social studies. Parents and students be sure to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year. I look forward to working with you.
Ms. Taylor

Each week I will post a picture of our homework and what your child's agenda should look like. This will help you and your child make sure they can always have their homework completed.
